![]() ![]() TL DR: The game's developers have failed the players, at least for now. Etterna and beatoraja are easy enough to run, and I maintain a Flatpak for the Linux version of Etterna in case players have trouble running it. However, seeing as the devs are more willing to push their osu!supporter-style subscription onto their existing playerbase, restricting features that were not restricted back when the game was in alpha, I suggest that you stay away from this game. (Former barely gives out score, but the latter. It breaks when you put LN streams in files (as I've mentioned before), and gives disproportionate ratings depending on if you're playing, say, dense regular note streams vs. If the devs want to fix this game, they must stray away heavily from the osu!mania style of scoring, as it is the rough equivalent of someone putting a meme difficulty rating on a StepMania simfile. (I've seen multiple files that are 40 difficulty or higher on 4key scoring that mainly consist of long notes.) This should be more than enough to inform you that the developers don't exactly have a good bias for scoring.Īdditionally, the scoring system breaks when you put streams of long notes in any simfile, as far as I am aware. For the uninitiated, vibro is an utterly skill-less style of VSRG gameplay, where you just vibrate your hands enough to be able to hit patterns that usually are not playable in any normal style of gameplay. Mind you, the devs behind this game (Swan and Staravia) happened to be vibro players before they released Quaver. (Sightread one file and got to #15 near-instantly, just by turning the rate modifier up.) All you need to do to expose flaws is to turn the song rate up on a hard song (around 30 or higher will do.) I've gotten on the leaderboard quite easily, multiple times, because I did this. It is easy to completely break this game's scoring, either when creating a map or when playing one. (My profile shows a Round 1 badge, in case you're wondering.) ![]() I was an alpha tester for this game, back when it came out in ~2020. ![]()
